Ahh Paris, one of my favourite cities in the world so I was really happy to have a few days to enjoy it at the end of our trip before flying home. We woke up early and caught the 7am train from Nice to Paris which took a total of 5 hours and 40 minutes. It was a very comfortable journey and fun to see the landscape of the South of France change as you soared across the country. I slipped in and out of sleep and before I knew it had arrived at Paris’ Gare de Lyon.
We made our way on the metro to our stop Madeleine (with the help of some very lovely French people) as we were going to Hyatt Madeleine which would be our home for the next two nights.
Hyatt Madeleine is a lovely boutique hotel with 85 rooms. Our room was the Eiffel Tower suite and it was beautiful with the most perfect quintessential Parisian view. It was right at the top on the 7th floor and had such a cozy rooftop vibe to it, which was made even cozier by the rain pitter pattering on the window pane as we sipped steaming hot mugs of tea.
Our room was so spacious with a little lounge area, bedroom, walk in wardrobe, a separate toilet and the dreamiest white marble bathroom – all with views over the Eiffel Tower. If you’re looking for a luxury, boutique hotel in Paris, then look no further!
The staff were all so helpful and friendly and were very quick to answer any questions I had about where to eat or what to do. The hotel is in a nice area located on Boulevard Malesherbes in the Madeleine district of Paris and is about 40 minutes walk from the Eiffel tower. There are 2 metro stations very close by (Madeleine and Saint-Augustin) The Saint-Augustin stop will take you directly to the Trocadéro. It’s also within walking distance to the Paris Opéra Garnier, Place de la Madeleine, Place de la Concorde, the River Seine, the Louvre and the Champs-Elysées.
Breakfast was delicious (I’m missing those crunchy croissants!) and we enjoyed it whilst looking out over our Paris with the iron lady standing proudly in the distance. You can also have breakfast downstairs in the trendy Café M but I wanted to make the most of our gorgeous view.
Our trip to Paris was a short one so the next morning we woke up bright and early and made the most of our only full day there. We jumped on the metro and went to explore my favourite area – Montematre. We were so lucky as the weather forecast was thunderstorms and instead we got blue sky!
Of course I dragged Umit straight to my favourite pink cafe. It was a very relaxing day, we wandered around taking photos and eating crêpes with nutella, popping into little shops and watching the painters create magic with their brushes.
We spent the entire day strolling around Paris, taking in the sights and sounds, eating delicious food and just enjoying our time in this beautiful city. It was short but, as always, very sweet. Thanks Hyatt Madeleine for a memorable stay!
