We flew from Turkey to Athens, explored the city for awhile (and ate our body weight in tzatziki) then jumped on a ferry as the sun was setting and headed for an island that’s been on my bucket list for years…Santorini.
7 and a half veryyyy long hours later we arrived. Our home for the next 2 nights was Astarte Suites and the hotel had kindly sent a driver to pick us up at the port. Since it was 3 in the morning and we couldn’t see much, we sleepily made our way to the hotel and fell into bed.
Astarte Suites is located in the Akrotiri area of Santorini, about 45 minutes from Oia, nestled on the cliffs of Caldera with glorious views over the Aegean Sea, Fira, Oia and the volcano.
Waking up, I flung open the balcony door and my jaw dropped at the view. I was finally in Santorini!
With a stunning infinity pool where the sea and sky blend seamlessly together, Astarte suites is beautiful and extremely peaceful – making it an ideal spot for honeymooners or those that just want to relax and escape the busy areas of Oia or Thira.
The 5* luxury boutique hotel has 13 suites, each one with a different design. Our room was incredible and so big that we even had our own indoor jacuzzi.
My favourite part, though, was our private infinity pool on our terrace (complete with Felix the flamingo)
One of the best things about staying in any hotel is the breakfast and Astarte Suites certainly didn’t disappoint in that department.
Each day you received a breakfast card where you could choose what you’d like to eat the next morning. You then pick a time you would like to eat and then the staff will bring your breakfast to your room so you can dine in the comfort of your own balcony or in our case by our private pool!
There was such a wide choice of things available such as sausages, different type of eggs, fruit, Greek yogurt with honey, cheeses, smoked salmon, cereals, pastries, all different fresh juices, champagne….I always ended up overeating because it was so yummy!
Dinner is at the amazing Alali restaurant which consists of a few intimate tables around the pool area with the most beautiful view over the sea below. The ambience is so romantic and it’s lovely watching the sun set and the sky change colour as you dine on the delicious Mediterranean cuisine.
It was a short but sweet stay but spent at Astarte Suites was memorable. The staff, the food, the views, the room and the overall peace of the place were all amazing and I can’t wait to go back one day!
