A few weeks ago we flew out to Dubai and had the pleasure of staying at Fairmont The Palm hotel which is, as the name suggest, on the Palm. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left it was a fantastic experience. We had such an exciting and busy schedule whilst we were there that we didn’t have as much spare time as I would have liked to relax at such a beautiful hotel but we still enjoyed it nonetheless.
Our flights landed super late so by the time we arrived at the hotel it was around 3am and we were exhausted….
We were checked in by the friendly, helpful receptionist who kindly sorted my WiFi out right away (obviously the most important thing! 🙂 ) Our room was great – really spacious and clean with a good sized bathroom that had a bathtub, shower, separate little room with a toilet and bidet and lots of lovely smelling products next to the sink. There was a little walk in wardrobe (which was perfect as I, of course, brought far too many clothes for a short trip) and a desk area. The bed was massive and super comfortable so I didn’t waste much time before I was in it and fast asleep!
As we arrived in the dark we didn’t see much of our surroundings before crashing out so when we woke up the next morning and the sun was shining we threw open the balcony doors to find the most beautiful views over the swimming pool, beach and Dubai Marina in the distance.
We mooched on down to breakfast with sleepy eyes and hungry bellies……
Luckily for us breakfast was an extensive buffet full of everything you could wish to eat – Fresh omlettes, pancakes and waffles, fruit, cereals and lots of different breads and pastries. The staff were very attentive and will bring you fresh pots of tea or coffee.
The pool and beach are the best assets of the Fairmont Hotel for sure. The whole area is just so beautiful with palm trees dotted around and birds chirping (seriously, even the birds in Dubai were so much more cheerful than in other places!) with big round sunbeds on the beach to sunbathe on. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend much time around the pool but on our last morning we had a couple of hours to kill before our flight so we enjoyed some chill time there. We had the place to ourselves and the weather was beautiful…December really is the perfect time to visit Dubai!
The location of the Fairmont is on the Palm Jumeirah on a beautiful stretch of private beach. Thanks to the hotel being at the trunk of the Palm, it’s only short taxi ride away from attractions such as the Dubai Mall, Burj Al Arab/Jumeirah Madinat, Dubai Marina and the Atlantis Hotel where we had a few activities booked in.
Even though it was 27 degrees every day, one of the things I loved most about the hotel is how Christmas-sy it was! Something I wasn’t expecting at all. There was a big, beautifully decorated tree right in the middle of the lobby, the staff were all wearing Christmas jumpers and the hotel was filled with a delicious cinnamon smell that just screamed Christmas to me.
Before traveling somewhere I always check out reviews. Fairmont The Palm gets some really mixed reviews on Tripadvisor so I was a bit hesitant before we went. I can say from the moment we arrived until the moment we left we had a great experience, the hotel is really lovely and just added to the wonderful time we had in Dubai.
