Last week we drove down to Fethiye to stay at the Hillside Beach Club hotel for a couple of days. Their motto is ‘Heaven on Earth’ and it’s only now that i’ve been there that I can truly appreciate this sentiment. It really is like a little piece of heaven nestled inbetween the lush green mountains just a short drive away from the center of Fethiye. I love the fact that they have respected the nature around them and the hotel rooms and buildings just blend seamlessly into their surroundings.
Our room (238) was really different than I was expecting with a lovely open plan layout. As you walked into it you immediately entered the outdoor balcony area which had amazing views over the turquoise sea and the hotel’s main beach.
The bathroom, bedroom and spare bedroom were all located just off to the side of the balcony area, which was a really cool layout and one I hadn’t seen before. The bedroom was bright, white and minimalist with a separate walk-in dressing room. As always I snapped a photo of the toiletries which were really smart at Hillside, they gave lip balms, hair bobbles and bobby pins!
Hillside has 4 beaches. The main beach, Pasha Beach, Serenity beach and Silent beach. The latter two are the perfect place to chill as they have an adult only policy.
Serenity Beach
Serenity beach was my favourite of the 4. To get there you can either hop on a colorful little boat shuttle which leaves from the main beach area every so often or you could go via the nature walk which we mostly did as it was such a pretty trail along the side of the sea around the bay. The beach itself is really peaceful with an amazing little beach bar serving numerous cocktails and cold drinks (try the strawberry frozen, it’s delish)
Silent Beach
I love the little walk from the hotel along to Silent Beach, which is as the name suggests – silent as there are no children or loud phones allowed. This is where they do moonlight yoga and you’ll also find the gorgeous jungle-esque Sanda Spa which offers a range of massages and treatments by the lovely Balinese women working there.
Main Beach
This is obviously the most popular as it’s the closest and biggest beach to the hotel. We mostly chilled here as there was often lunchtime entertainment and snacks at the beach bar, a floating jetty you can swim out to and sun-loungers that have a little button that when pushed a waiter will magically appear to take your drinks order – genius!
There’s nothing I enjoy more than eating out or waking up to a delicious breakfast and I can definitely say I wasn’t disappointed at Hillside. They cater to a very large amount of guests and breakfast, lunch and dinner is all included so I wasn’t expecting too much on the quality side of things but BOY – was I wrong. Amazing. Delicious. Fresh…the food was honestly so good. Start with breakfast in the main eating area which was buffet style….they had such a wide selection of choices from fresh pancakes, omelettes, fruit, meats, breads, pastries to cereals, pretty much anything you could ever dream of eating for breakfast. If you miss that then you can wander down to Pasha Restaurant where they have a late breakfast from 10:00 – 12:00 right next to the beach.
Pasha Restaurant is also one of the 2 A’la Carte restaurants at Hillside. In the evening it’s transformed into a beautiful and romantic restaurant serving some of the best Mediterranean cuisine i’ve ever tasted. The meze were wonderful and i’d definitely recommend the sea bass. The other A’la Carte restaurant is over at the beach bar on the other end of the bay which turns into an Italian restaurant in the evening. On our second day at Hillside it was my birthday so this is where we ate that night, right on the seafront and it was really magical and romantic! (Note: You don’t need to pay extra for the A’la Carte restaurants, you just need to make a reservation.)
After dinner there was always some form of entertainment going on. I really enjoyed the parties at the beach bar and on our last night they had erected a cinema screen on floats and put it into the sea. Such a great idea!
I loved everything about this hotel, from the great wifi (as an Instagrammer that is important! 😀 ) to the magic sun-lounger buttons that you push and a waiter comes. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, the food was plentiful and of a very high quality, the entertainment was great and the location was fabulous. What else could you ask for? I would definitely recommend this heaven on earth hotel to families, couples or those that just want to experience the peace and quiet of nature in luxury.
